Privacy Policy
Effective 2026-08-18 · Transcendent Creations LLC
Monius has no user account, no back-end server, and no analytics. Transcendent Creations collects nothing from the app and cannot see your data. This policy explains what the app reads on your device, why, and how to remove it.
What we collect
Nothing. There is no sign-up, no login, no email address, no advertising identifier, no analytics or telemetry SDK, and no third-party crash reporter. Monius makes no network request to any server operated by Transcendent Creations, because no such server exists.
Where your data lives
Your habits, completion record, written reasons and settings are stored on your device. If you have iCloud enabled, they sync between your own Apple devices through your private iCloud database, using Apple's CloudKit. That database belongs to your Apple Account. Transcendent Creations has no access to it and cannot read, export or recover its contents.
Apple Health
If you connect a habit to Apple Health, Monius reads the specific metric that habit needs, in order to complete the habit automatically. Monius only reads. It never writes — it does not add, edit or delete anything in Apple Health.
The health data types Monius may read are:
- Step count
- Wheelchair push count
- Walking + running distance
- Cycling distance
- Swimming distance
- Flights climbed
- Active energy burned
- Exercise minutes
- Stand time
- Workout duration
- Mindful minutes
- Time in daylight
- Time asleep
- Water intake
- Caffeine
- Dietary energy consumed
- Alcoholic beverages
Health values are used on your device to decide whether a habit's target was met on a given day. The resulting record is a completion mark and, where relevant, the measured amount for that day — not a copy of your Apple Health samples. Health data is never transmitted off your device by Monius.
Withdrawing health access
You can revoke Monius's access at any time in the iOS Settings app, under Health → Data Access & Devices → Monius, or from Privacy & Security → Health. Revoking access stops any further reading immediately. Habits that relied on it stop completing automatically and can be marked by hand or converted to manual tracking inside the app.
Screen Time
Screen-time habits use Apple's Family Controls, Device Activity and Managed Settings frameworks. With these, iOS itself measures your usage and tells the app only when a threshold you set has been crossed. Monius does not receive a browsable history of your app usage, and the app selection you choose is stored by iOS in an opaque form that Monius cannot read back as app names.
You can revoke Screen Time access in the iOS Settings app under Screen Time, or from Privacy & Security. Doing so stops monitoring immediately.
Notifications
Notifications are scheduled locally on your device by iOS. Monius uses no push server, so no notification content passes through any third party. You can disable them per type inside the app, or entirely in iOS Settings.
Purchases
Monius is a one-time purchase handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. Payment details never reach the app or Transcendent Creations. Apple tells the app only whether the purchase is owned by your Apple Account. Apple's own privacy policy governs the transaction.
Retention and deletion
Because there is no server, there is nothing for us to retain or delete on your behalf. Your data persists only as long as you keep it:
- Delete a habit in the app, and it and its record are removed from your device and from your private iCloud database on the next sync.
- Delete the app, and its on-device storage is removed by iOS.
- Remove the iCloud copy in iOS Settings → your name → iCloud → Manage Account Storage → Monius.
Children
Monius is not directed at children and collects no information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted here with a new effective date. The app's substantive commitment — no account, no server, no analytics — will not change without a new major version making that explicit.
